| | Safetynet
Safetynet is a European network for process safety developed under the British Euram Programme. Safetynet has been developed to reduce the gap between research and practice, especially in small and medium-sized companies. Safetynet is managed by a German company, Prosicht, and works with support points in various countries.
The network is composed of information-providers and users. The users can subscribe to an electronic newsletter in order to keep up to date with the latest developments. They then gain access to a series of databases. The research database contains a selection of references to explosions and process safety from Cordis, a European database about current and completed research in the European Union.
The database of measurement methods and values provides an overview of organisations which can perform particular Ex-measurements. The database of network participants offers an overview of studies, projects and papers from the organisations concerned.
Participating information-providers and users of the network can actively participate in electronic seminars by sending in papers and joining in discussions. The results of the seminars and discussions can be downloaded via the network. Safetynet also offers information about European research projects and provides links to software packages and MSDS, events, accidents and standardisation activities on the Internet.
