The WBSCD (World Business Council for Sustainable Development) is a coalition of 160 international companies, who have come together with a shared commitment to sustainable development. The members come from 35 countries and more than 20 different important industrial sectors. The WBSCD has just started up a new website. The aim is to spur companies into including sustainable development activities in their reports. The reporting portal site gives visitors comprehensible information on how sustainable reports can be organised, and what information they should contain in general. The site contains practical cases from 43 companies from 14 different business sectors. The practical examples can be consulted using four criteria: company context, policy, performance and control. Furthermore, there is also a step-by-step guide that should help companies produce their sustainability reports. The companies on the site are mainly North American and European. However, the ambition is to include companies from all over the world on the site.
