Prevention Online, an initiative of BC GmbH Verlags- und Mediengesellschaft, Wiesbaden, is an independent internet portal for safety and health at work, working environment and quality of work. All the sources originate from Germany. In the centre of the homepage can be found the most important and very latest news. The left column guides the user through six centres: the Infozentrum (Info Centre) where primarily information and documentation can be found; the Dienstleistungszentrum (Service Centre) where services and tools are located; the Produktzentrum (Product Centre), which contains a section for product reviews; the Rechtszentrum, where references to standards and regulations can be found; the Forschungszentrum (Research Centre) where users can check out current and future research, research projects and research organisations; the Mediathek, where mostly practical awareness-raising material is located. In May 2002, the site won first prize in the category for portal sites at the Fifth International Film and Multimedia Festival during the 16th World Congress for Safety and Health at Work.
