Of particular interest on the BGZ Wegvervoer website is the section on health and safety at work and absenteeism. There is also information about training. The information about the ergonomics of drivers’ cabs is very interesting. In 1993, NIPG-TNO was commissioned by BGZ Wegvervoer to organise a written survey into the most popular truck types at that time, involving 7,000 drivers. For each cab type, the drivers indicated which ergonomic aspects they regarded as important. A follow-up survey investigated the effect of personal or job-related aspects on drivers’ health in more detail. The data that was gathered was then processed further to see whether a relationship could be established between ergonomic aspects and a number of variables such as bodyweight, length, type of transport, loading/unloading, etc. The results of the research are used in a number of publications which can be ordered via the site. A special training project has been started up by BGZ Wegvervoer: a video entitled "Zitten. Hoe zit dat?" about adjusting the driver’s seat properly is accompanied by other awareness-raising material. BGZ Wegvervoer also publishes the journal "Beter.
