Founded in 1974, CIIT is a not-for-profit toxicology research institute dedicated to providing an improved scientific basis for understanding and assessing the potential adverse effects of chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and consumer products on human health. CIIT is supported by 34 major companies and the American Chemistry Council and it conducts health effects research on a range of models: computer and mathematical models; animal models (in vivo); cellular studies at the test tube level (in vitro); and studies using human cells.This site offers an overview of the different activities of the CIIT, next to the Institute's monthly newsletter, CIIT Activities, featuring reviews of CIIT research projectsThe CIIT.
