Interapy

This Dutch site was set up recently to offer writing therapy via the Internet to people who have suffered stress as a result of a shocking experience. Interapy offers short interventions based on treatment methods whose effectiveness has been scientifically proven, according to the site. The University of Amsterdam is responsible for the development of these treatment procedures.
The Interapy treatment involves the victim writing in their own home, on the basis of instructions issued via the Internet by an assigned practitioner. A course of treatment lasts five weeks, during which the patient writes ten texts. Contacts between the practitioner and participants are made via the “cliëntbox”, a file where texts and reactions are stored together. Only the practitioner and the patient have access to this file, by means of a personal code. In some cases, Interapy will advise counselling to deal with traumatic experiences.
